OZONE TREATMENT

Mirelez Wellness Dental now offers Ozone Dental Treatments to our patients. Until recently dental treatments have centered on injections to the gums, followed by drilling and filling as a restorative treatment. Today, Dr. Mirelez’s patients can receive a whole different experience at Mirelez Wellness Dental. With the use of oxygen/ozone Dr. Mirelez can reduce the injections and drilling - now replace uncomfortable appointments with an easy, quick, painless treatment – all done using ozone.

What is Ozone?
Ozone uses two nutrients of life, oxygen and water.  Ozone is a naturally occurring molecule that consists of three atoms of Oxygen instead of two.  Ozone is an oxidant and is also referred to as an oxidizer. An oxidizer is a substance that accepts an electron from another substance and is then reduced.  Ozone is a powerful oxidizer — it effectively kills bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites at a dramatically lower concentration than chlorine, with none of the toxic side effects.
Using ozone can reverse the carious process in the tooth, thus preventing years of lengthy and costly dental visits.  When ozone is used in Dr. Mirelez’s office, it treats the cause of the problem NOT JUST the symptoms.

How can Oxygen/Ozone Help In My Dental Care?
Staying within the accepted standard of care, with proper application, oxygen/ozone can enhance the outcome in all aspects of dentistry. For example, periodontal disease is a chronic gum and bone infection. By utilizing the different application forms of oxygen/ozone such as ozonated water, ozonated oils, and placing oxygen/ozone directly into the infected gum pockets, periodontal disease can be arrested without the use of pharmaceutical drugs and associated side effects.
Another area of concern is infected root canals. Oxygen/ozone therapy sterilizes all aspects of the tooth, even into the smallest canals and tubules. This allows for a truly biologic root canal and thus retention of your natural teeth. Tooth decay or caries, which is really a "tooth infection", can be arrested almost immediately upon proper exposure to oxygen/ozone therapy. This procedure is especially useful when treating children, as minimal to no drilling of the tooth is necessary.

Dr. Mirelez would like to welcome you, your family and your friends to come visit our office and ask what Ozone can do to improve the overall health of your mouth.
