Platelet Rich Plasma & Platelet Rich Fibrin Enhanced Healing
Why is it recommended for my Dental Treatment?
PRP and PRF are products processed from your own blood and placed into the surgical site. These growth factors help increase tissue synthesis by stimulating the stem cells to produce new healthy tissue rather quickly in the surgical area. It has been scientifically proven that by doing this, the healing process will be faster than normal and will provide less risks and chances of infection, dry socket, failed implants and/or grafting. Almost all patients report a much greater degree of comfort immediately after their procedure when using this technique as well.
What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF)?
PRP is a liquid form, while PRF is a gelled membrane formed after drawing the patients’ blood in a test tube and spinning it in a centrifuge. The centrifuge allows us to separate your blood into its individual components: Plasma, Red Cells and the Buffy Coat (small, but concentrated quantity of white blood cells). The Plasma and the Buffy Coat are the two layers that contain the healing and growth factors used to enhance healing.
